Reminders Power

Reminders that speak your language

Set a reminder the way you’d say it out loud. React with ⏰ and reply with a time, or just ask Via — no rigid syntax, no leaving Slack. Reminders are scheduled in your workspace timezone and can mirror onto your team’s Google Calendar.

Set a reminder in three steps

The reaction flow is the fastest path — react, reply, done.
Step 1

React with ⏰

Add the alarm clock reaction to any channel message. Viably replies in the thread asking when you'd like to be reminded.

Step 2

Reply with a time

Answer in plain language — “in 3 days”, “2 weeks”, “at 3pm Friday”. No special syntax, and no AI round-trip: the time parser handles it directly.

Step 3

Via fires on schedule

At the chosen time, Via posts the reminder back to the conversation and tags you, with the original message as context.

Or just ask Via. In chat, say something like @Via remind this channel about the retro at 3pm Friday and Via schedules it for you — handy when you want to remind a whole channel rather than yourself.

Natural-language time expressions

The reminder time is parsed directly from your words — relative durations and clock times both work. All reminders are resolved against your workspace timezone, so “3pm” means 3pm where your team is.

Channels, DMs & your calendar

Reminders aren't just personal pings — they can target a channel and show up on the shared agenda.

Channels or DMs

Remind yourself, or ask Via to remind an entire channel. The reminder posts where it's relevant, with the source message linked.

Mirrors to Google Calendar

When the Calendar power is connected, reminders mirror onto the shared team calendar and appear in the /calendar agenda alongside events, tasks, and issues.

Always on, ungated

Reminders are available to every workspace by default — there's no power to switch on before your team can use ⏰.
