Via is agentic, so when your request implies an action it calls the right tool rather than describing what you should go and do. Here is some of what it takes care of without you leaving the chat.
Open a tracked issue from a conversation, or mark an existing one resolved, without anybody retyping the bug report.
Spin up one task or several, each with an owner and a due date, straight from the message that decided the work needed doing.
Schedule a nudge for yourself or a whole channel in plain language, and let Via work out when you meant.
Close out a sprawling discussion with the outcome recorded, so the next person to search finds the answer rather than the argument.
Look up medal standings and recent recognition when you want to know who has been carrying the team lately.

Models and API keys
Chat runs over OpenRouter by default, so you pick the model that fits your team’s taste and budget from the dashboard. Bring your own key if you would rather run on your own account, whether that is OpenRouter, Google Gemini, or OpenAI.
Choose the chat model from the dashboard picker. Viably routes between a detection model and an execution model under the hood for fast, accurate tool use.
Add your own OpenRouter key in settings and Via runs on your account. Without a key, workspaces use Viably’s pooled access under a daily and monthly spend cap. See the /usage dashboard for current AI spend.
If you would rather bill an existing provider account, add a Google Gemini or OpenAI key instead. Viably falls back through them in order, using OpenRouter first, then Gemini, then GPT. A direct key trades away the model picker, since the routing is fixed to that provider.
A workspace with no key of its own still gets Via, running on Viably's server key with a free-tier model. Adding an OpenRouter key is what unlocks the paid models and the picker, so nobody has to buy an API subscription to try the assistant.

When your request implies work, Via calls the matching tool rather than telling you how to do it yourself, so it files the issue, creates the task, schedules the reminder, or opens the pull request while you stay in the thread. Anything Via cannot do safely on its own, it hands back with the answer.
