Contacts and CRM

The event-driven CRM with no manual data entry.

CRM goes stale the moment your team misses data entry. Viably builds a truth-backed customer ledger directly from webhooks and real-world events, reconciling contact forms, enquiry email, the replies your team sends, meetings they book, in-app events, and Stripe checkouts into one unified customer journey.

A holistic customer journey for every contact, from the form they first filled in to the payment that cleared last week.

Live infrastructure

Databases go stale. Live infrastructure does not.

Traditional CRMs stop becoming trustworthy the moment somebody forgot to log a follow-up, or when a refund goes unrecorded. Viably does the opposite by treating customer observability as an extension of our event-driven infrastructure. A contact form submission, an abandoned cart signal, a support ticket, an email reply by CC and a Stripe transaction all populate the same customer journeyautomaticallywithout manual data entry.

  • First touch attributed to the pricing page
  • Task raised, owner assigned, due today at 5pm
Viably eliminates manual steps, with the record updating itself to sync with real-world events.
  • Forward an inbox

Point your sales or support address at a Viably inbox and everyone who writes in becomes a contact, matched to the leads and payments they already have. No code required.

  • Post to one endpoint

Anything that can send an HTTP request can create a contact: a form, your own app, a payment provider or a partner. Stripe payments land on the same customer journey.

  • Import, or type it in

Paste in a CSV or add contacts one by one. Then add a second phone or WhatsApp number, set custom fields and keep as many notes as you need.

  • CC it from your own mail client

Keep emailing from your own inbox and CC the shared address. Viably works out which recipient is the customer and files the email on their timeline. No browser extension needed.

  • Invite Viably to the meeting

Add the same shared address as a guest on a Google Meet or in-person meeting. Viably files it on the right contact and keeps it in step when you reschedule or cancel.

  • OCR business cards from Slack

React with the camera emoji to a business card photo in Slack and Viably reads it. New people become contacts, existing ones get filled in, and the scan is pinned to the pinboard.

Record & Attribution

Zero-config revenue attribution, derived from the events themselves.

Most CRMs promise attribution only if you fill up the dozen fields: wiring deal stages, pipelines and amounts by hand so the report at the end is derived from shaky, error-prone entries. Viably ties each contact to the funnel, the on-page events they generated and every payment they made, and every number is verifiably derived from the ledger of truth.

  • Lifetime Value with Multi-Currency Support

Summed from the payments themselves and kept in the currency of the customer's first charge. Payments in other currencies are converted for you.

  • Customer Acquisition Attribution

See which channels and campaigns bring in your most valuable customers, traced through every event and payment that follows.

  • Cohort Reports and Comparisons

Group revenue and conversion by acquisition source or any custom attribute, then compare cohorts side by side to see where growth comes from.

  • Urgency, Responsiveness and Actionability

Viably scores contacts for urgency, tracks how quickly your team replies, and sends anyone who needs attention to the Team Inbox for follow-up.

  • Strong Ownership Features

A sales lead is won or lost, a support request is resolved, a job applicant gets an offer or a pass. Each stream has its own stages and a named owner.

  • Integrates with Tasks and Kanban

Set follow-up reminders through @Via, turn a contact into a task on the board, and the contact owner gets a ping whenever a new event is logged.

Two relayed signals and a call somebody wrote down.

Every captured signal files itself under the person it named, so the stage, the outcome, the lifetime value and the responsiveness figures are always verifiably derived from the source.

The Slack-native CRM

Most CRMs ask you to remember another login and to copy answers between tabs. Viably relays the customer's enquiry into the right Slack channel through your AI co-worker @Via and lets them reply from there. The record and Slack thread is always kept in sync.

  • Triage from the chat

Each enquiry arrives in the channel as a card. Reply by email straight from the card, sent from your workspace address, and you become the contact owner.

  • In-thread replies and correspondence

When the customer writes back, @Via posts the reply in the Slack thread and logs it on the contact record, keeping both up to date.

  • Reminders and follow-ups

Tell @Via to remind you in three days and it pings you in the channel and by DM. Snooze it, reschedule it or mark it done without leaving Slack.

FAQ

Questions about the CRM

What is an event-driven CRM?
It is a CRM whose records are written by your systems rather than by your team. Every contact form submission, forwarded enquiry, in-app event and payment arrives at one endpoint, is kept in the ledger with the payload that proves it, and is filed against the person it names. Nobody logs a call to keep the record current, because the record is a byproduct of the work rather than a chore beside it.
Does Viably replace HubSpot or Salesforce?
For a small team that wants an accurate customer record, attribution it can trust, and somewhere to answer people from, yes. Viably deliberately does not ship quote configuration, territory management, forecasting models, or a marketing automation suite. If your sales operation depends on those, Viably is the wrong tool, and if it depends on a record that stays true without anyone maintaining it, this is the trade Viably makes.
Where does the contact data come from?
From the things your business already does. A contact form submission, a forwarded enquiry email, an in-app event, a Stripe charge, and a business card scanned from Slack all resolve to the same person, so the record fills itself from five directions at once.
Can Viably scan business cards into the CRM?
Yes. Photograph the cards into a Slack channel and react with the camera. Viably OCR reads every person on the image, posts a formatted contact table and a nine-column CSV back into your own thread, and keeps the scan on the pinboard and in the relay log with the picture attached. Creating the contacts opens a review that reads the CRM live, so people already on file are left alone unless a blank field can be filled from the card, and you can edit anything before confirming.
Can Viably log the emails my team sends, without a browser extension?
Yes. Your workspace gets one shared address, and copying it onto a reply records that message on the customer's timeline. There is nothing to install, no OAuth grant, and no change to how anyone sends mail, so it works from Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail and a phone alike. Colleagues on the thread are never captured as contacts, and Viably can only ever see the mail you copy it on, because there is no mailbox scanning behind it.
Do meetings and calls show up on the customer record?
Yes, in two ways. Add the same shared address as a guest on the invite and the meeting lands on the record with no calendar access at all, moving when you reschedule and disappearing when you cancel. Members can also switch on meeting logging for their own calendar, which covers the calls nobody thought to invite Viably to. That one is per person and off until they turn it on, and either way a meeting only ever attaches to somebody already in your contacts and can never create one.
How does Viably know two events are the same person?
The email address is the key. Everything that arrives carrying an address is reconciled onto one contact, the timeline holds every event in the order it happened, and records that were captured separately can be merged, with the merge kept on the record so the history stays readable.
Does it calculate lifetime value and attribution on its own?
Yes, and it derives both from the event log rather than from fields anyone fills in. Lifetime value is summed from the payments and held in the currency of the first transaction. Attribution follows the source that first named the contact, which is what makes revenue by source, conversion by source and lifetime value by source all answerable from the same data.
Can I still add or edit a contact by hand?
Yes. Add a contact, write a note, correct a field, set an owner, apply a tag, or import a CSV whenever you want to. The point is that the record stays current when nobody does any of that.
Do I need Slack to use the CRM?
No. The endpoint accepts events, the mail forward captures your inbox, and the whole contacts dashboard runs in a browser. Teams who already live in Slack can additionally triage and reply from the channel through Via.
How much does it cost?
The Free plan is always available and carries the full feature set. Viably+ is seven dollars a day billed annually with unlimited seats, and it opens with a 14-day free trial that bills nothing until the fortnight is up.
